Can You Use a Bounce House in Wind or Rain?
Wind speed limits, rain safety, and cancellation policies for bounce house rentals — what every party host should know.
The short answer
Stop using a bounce house when sustained winds or gusts reach 15–20 mph, or follow the manufacturer's label. Light rain isn't dangerous on its own, but wet vinyl is slippery and lightning means everyone out immediately.
What to do if weather turns
Get all children out first, then unplug the blower and let the unit deflate. Never try to hold down an inflatable in strong wind.
Ask about the weather policy
Reputable companies offer rain checks or free rescheduling for unsafe weather. Ask about the policy when you book, and choose a BHA Safety Verified company that monitors forecasts for you.
